Demographic Mapper

Demographic Mapper is a new interactive mapping tool designed to allow citizens, organizations, and staff members in Prince William County (PWC), Virginia and beyond to easily create customized and useful demographic maps of PWC from a selection of over 100 demographic attributes, numerous color schemes, data classification options, and export capabilities. Demographic Mapper bolsters informed local decision-making at the county level. Examples include comparing the locations of elderly residents, low-income residents, and meal distribution centers as well as obtaining a geographic visualization of children living without health insurance with the intentions of identifying specific public health service needs. The mapper not only allows county employees to produce well-informed decisions, reports, and presentations, but empowers county residents to better understand the makeup of their communities and to voice substantiated concerns about needed improvements. And, users can segment trends by different demographics.
