Akron Income Disparity and Proximity

akron listing

This map draws lines between census block groups with comparable populations whose percentile differences in median household income is more than 25%. This map focuses on the differences that fracture the city rather than where poverty or wealth is concentrated. But it is worth noting that in a city that is dynamic in so many other ways, large areas of poverty and wealth remain isolated. Where poverty and wealth do intersect, at these drawn lines, are places where we are most likely to see inequality.
